Middlesex Conservation District Requests Your Input on Natural Resource Concerns
The Middlesex Conservation District will be conveining a local working group to identify and prioritize resource concerns within the county. A diverse group including representatives from municipal conservation commissions, water districts, land trusts, watershed alliances, environmental organizations, boards of health, as well as farmers and landowners is needed to identify the wide variety of issues that impace the area.
The 2008 farm bill set aside money for conservation efforts and stressed the importance of local imput. Money from the farm bill impacts local environmental efforst. Your input ensures it is directed to best address the needs of the community.

About the District
The Middlesex Conservation District was established in 1947 by a group of Middlesex County residents committed to providing a program of soil and water conservation. We are a not-for-profit subdivision of state government guided by an elected, volunteer Board of Supervisors and work in cooperation with federal, state, and local agencies and organizations. Through a partnership with the U.S.D.A. Natural Resources Conservation Service, Middlesex Conservation District has helped landowners and municipalities identify natural resource concerns and plan solutions.
MCD is one of more than 3000 conservation districts throughout the United States. The philosophy behind conservation districts has always been that local people working to assess community conservation needs know best how to solve local problems, and that voluntary conservation, coupled with education, results in long-term success.
The Middlesex Conservation District includes all 54 municipalities in Middlesex County. They are:
