The Middlesex Conservation District and the Boxborough Agricultural Commission are offering a Soils Workshop on Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 6:15 - 8:30 pm, at Sargent Memorial Library, 427 Massachusetts Ave, Boxborough, MA.

Dan Lenthall, District Conservationist with the Natural Resources Conservation Service, will be demonstrating soil mapping tools available on the Internet as well as introducing basic soil information and the value of soil characteristics in land use planning.

Time and weather permitting, the workshop will end with a short field trip to look at local soils. This workshop is suitable for town volunteers, employees, members of Agricultural Commissions, and local boards.
